Theater am Werk is a venue for contemporary theater and all forms of storytelling that defy categorization. It is a meeting place for different art forms: theater, music, performance, circus, poetry slam, experimental sounds, and even late-night formats. The productions staged at Theater am Werk are created in collaboration with exciting teams of artists. In addition to the performances, participatory formats and discussions invite audiences to get involved and explore topics in greater depth together with artists and experts.

Theater am Werk consists of two venues, Theater am Werk am Petersplatz and Theater am Werk im Kabelwerk, which couldn't be more different: an old Viennese basement in Vienna's first district, in the city center – Petersplatz – and a recently built theater center in an urban development area – Kabelwerk. This puts Theater am Werk in the heart of Vienna, because the heart of the city beats wherever Viennese people live, work, and spend their free time.

What sets us apart is diversity: diversity of themes, artistic styles, and audiences. Theater am Werk is a place for the stories of this city – open and full of life.
