A house floats in Theater am Werk. Two independent theatre ensembles from Graz – Das Planetenparty Prinzip and Theater im Bahnhof – have joined forces to tackle the topic of inheritance. Who is rich and how? Who is likely to inherit how much? Who gets what? Can this be summarised in a clear list? An experiment. Scenes overlap between large groups and intimacy, hustle and bustle and silence. Voices, bodies, past and present shift into one another.

The sole heiress is excessively ashamed. Three take turns fearing poverty in old age. Beyond inequality, conflict and greed lies something else: farewell. Because inheritance begins with loss. Someone is no longer there. And has left something behind. Happiness and unhappiness. Images arise in the audience, and inevitably their own stories emerge. Have you already written a will? Who will get the house?

Planetenparty Prinzip (founded in 2015, Graz) is a performance collective that develops innovative, contemporary productions in changing constellations and in collaboration with other artists and institutions. Their diverse works take formal and aesthetic risks and embrace new experiences with curiosity, playfulness and humour.

The Theater im Bahnhof Graz (TiB), most recently awarded the Austrian Art Prize 2025, is Austria's largest professional independent theatre ensemble. It sees itself as a contemporary folk theatre and is passionately dedicated to socially relevant topics. Often in collaboration with other artists, they seek out situations, spaces and contexts that can become stages.
