A roaring, drunken crowd, Barbi Marković and her father in the midst of it all. A sports report about a childhood in the stadium in Belgrade. A daughter who never became a football son. The football-loving men roar and cry. Neither changes the outcome of the story: the Yugoslav flags fly for the last time in the stadium. While her family and country fall apart, Barbi Marković rises through the dust of Piksi to become a master of words.
Bérénice Hebenstreit stages Marković’s plea for the weak heroes and at the same time asks what connects sports reports and violence-loving environments with each other. The soundscape is provided by Monobrother & B.Visible. From stadium gloom to the myth of Maksimir.
The new TEATA in Gumpendorfer is a guest at the Theater am Werk in Vienna with this production.
