Dialog am Werk #3: Die Sprache der neuen Rechten

In its productions, Theater am Werk addresses socially relevant issues and brings topics from people's everyday lives to the stage. Artists specialise in the poetic treatment of these topics – but they are not the only ones who have something to say about them! With the format Dialog am Werk (Dialogue at Theater am Werk), we enter into dialogue with experts. The format opens up space for socially or politically relevant perspectives that complement or enrich an artistic production.

In the production Eskalationsmaschinen (Escalation Machines), director Bernd-Liepold Mosser, together with his ensemble of actors and musician Clara Luzia, attempts to "deconstruct and dismantle the language of the new right, all the shallow platitudes and malicious strategies, the more or less veiled allusions to Nazi ideology and, above all, the infamous game of emotionalisation using the means of language, music and theatre" (Bernd-Liepold Mosser). In dialogue with experts, the theme of escalation as the ultimate linguistic practice of the new extreme right is examined in more detail.
